The nursery opened in September 2006 to provide care and education for children aged 2yrs to school age.
Our aim at Wellesbourne Nursery is to provide seamless high quality care and education for all nursery children, in a welcoming and comfortable environment that is provided by our excellent nursery staff.
We encourage children to learn through exploration and experimentation by providing a wide variety of well planned activities and experiences. We ensure, by careful and co operative planning, that the (Early Years Foundation Stage)curriculum in both the nursery and the school is mutually supportive and beneficial to the children. Staff are flexible within the whole school environment and have the opportunities to work in all areas ensuring continuity of provision.
Our nursery is based on learning through play to gain the children’s interest, when children are interested in and motivated by a stimulating learning environment they will naturally develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. Each child at Wellesbourne CE Nursery is treated as an individual and can access activities at their own ability level, through careful assessments and observations staff can then further develop each child’s learning through our planning.
The Planning of activities and experiences is based around the EYFS framework, this document plans for children’s learning and development from 0-5 years using four themes:
· A Unique Child –every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured
· Positive Relationships – children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key person
· Enabling Environment – the environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning
· Learning and Development – children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates and all areas of Learning and Development are equally important and inter-connected.
