SIAMs Report October 2019

Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) October 2019

‘This is an excellent Church school which lives and breathes its vision’.

We are now pleased to share with you the school’s latest SIAMS inspection report, following our inspection on Thursday 17th October 2019. The staff and Board of Governors are delighted that the inspector recognised the many outstanding aspects of the school and awarded us the ‘excellent’ overall grade.

As a Church of England (VC) school, we are inspected regularly by both Ofsted and the SIAMS team. Both audits are equally rigorous. Wellesbourne was previously judged as ‘outstanding’ in 2014. The old ‘outstanding’ grade has now gone, and the criteria that would previously have attracted an ‘outstanding’ grade have been merged with those for a ‘good’ grade. A new grade of ‘excellent’ has been introduced with a higher threshold than the old ‘outstanding’ grade. It is only awarded to exceptional schools.

We are particularly pleased the inspector recognised the ambition we have for all pupils, and that the school is one ‘where aspiration is key to improving standards and hope for the future. The hallmark of this school is the way it enables all pupils, regardless of background or ability, to feel valued and grow as unique and wonderfully made’.

Many thanks to all of the parents, members of our community and church who took the time to speak with the inspector and support our staff in their roles. We are all very proud of our school, our staff and our pupils and Wellesbourne truly is a place where all are encouraged to fulfil their dreams’.
