The weather was shining on us last Friday when we did our annual
Sponsored Walk. The children looked fabulous in their rainbow colours and
the Staff in their pink. The money they have raised is being used for
outside space development. Many thanks for all your support.

Boys Team win EFSA Tournament

Last Thursday evening, at Central Ajax near Warwick, Wellesbourne boys took part in the Stratford area of the EFSA football tournament. The team was: Shay, Tom, Jamie, Dan, Will, James, Robin, Reace, Chris and Vinnie.

They qualified from their group after only conceding one goal. This meant they went onto the semi-finals – which they won 1-0. The final was tense and went to penalties – Shay saved four – and we won! We are now marching onto the regional finals! Well done boys – a real team effort from all.

A special thank you to all the parents who helped, Mr Lee and Miss Riddell.

Thank You to Wellesbourne Allotment Association!

Gardening club is now in full autumnal swing with lots of tidying and preparation jobs to do, bulbs to plant and fun to be had. We are very lucky to have some expert gardeners from the Allotment Association helping us this
year. The association have also very kindly donated some lovely new – child sized- gardening tools.
Do you have any spare bulbs to donate
to gardening club? Please drop them off
at the school office or the annexe.
Thank you!

Welcome to Friends’ News, where we take the opportunity to let you know what the Friends of Wellesbourne School  committee are up to, forthcoming events and how you can help.
Thank you to everyone who came to our AGM on Wednesday evening. Look out for our Annual Report in book bags soon. If the chill in the air has you sorting out
your wardrobe, please don’t throw any clothes away. We have arranged a Bag2School fabric collection for Thursday 3rd November. We will provide you with bags a week or two before then all you need to do is drop the bags off at 9am on the Thursday morning. We’ll
even make the odd house collection if you live in Wellesbourne and would struggle to get your filled bags to school. We raised over £250 from fabric collection last year. If you are making purchases online
please consider signing up to easyfundraising.org.uk and supporting‘Friends of Wellesbourne CE Primary
School’. When you do this, some online retailers, like Amazon and Sainsbury’s give a donation to the Friends every time you shop. Best of all it costs you nothing extra! We made nearly £200 from easyfundraising last year with less than 30 supporters signed up, so just
image how successful it could be if we all did it! If you would like to contact us drop a note into the school office or send us an email to friends.wellesbourne@gmail.com.

The old problem of parking on the zigzag lines is still causing issues. It is in the Highway Code that it is an offence to park on these at any time there are children in the school (even if it’s only one!). Family members are asked to respect these rules as they are for the children’s safety. If we have to talk to you about it, please remember we are just thinking about the welfare of our pupils. Here is a BBC news report about the consequences of parking on the lines. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-27429481
