Progress and attainment is measured using end of year age-related expectations.  Children in Year 2 and Year 6  have end of Key Stage Tests (SATs)  and Teacher assessments.

KS1/Foundation Results 2025

EYFS67% of Wellesbourne pupils achieved a Good Level of Development (GLD) National 2024 – 69%

Year 1 Phonics 2025 – 77% (National was 80%)

In Year 2, are assessed by their class teacher if they are working at ‘Expected’ for Year 2, ‘Working below’ or ‘Greater depth’. Children in Year 2 are no longer required to sit their SAT tests.

KS2 results – 2025

In June 2025, the children in Year 4 undertake the MTC (Multiplication Tables Check)

At Wellesboune, 18% achieved full marks with an average score of 19 (out of 25) with an average score of 19.8 (National was 21.1)

In May in 2025 in Year 6, the children completed their SATs tests which are marked externally in reading, maths and SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar)  and given a level  of either ‘Expected’ for Year 6, ‘Working below’ or working at ‘Greater depth’. Writing is graded by the class teacher and externally moderated by the LA and also across our Federation and cluster throughout the year.
