Pastoral Support

Home » About Us » Pastoral Support

As part our vision of of a loving, supportive environment for all, we aim to offer a highly skilled team of support to families at the right time. Working with local and other agencies, including our church, we wish to initiate support earlier than in the current climate through a pool of expertise thus targeting vulnerable and disadvantaged families but also having a positive impact on all. We aim to refine opportunities not duplicate thus developing specialism in certain areas. Wellesbourne School took part in the DBE’s ‘Beacon Project’ which was a funded program to train staff in Trauma, emotion coaching and restorative techniques as well as improving supervision and practice for staff groups.

Supporting our staff and their well-being is also a fundamental part of our plan. A healthy, resilient workforce improves recruitment and retention as well as ensuring the best people can support the community. An over overview of Fosse MAT Family Framework is available to download below.

Early Intervention in school: Our pastoral support starts with your child’s class teacher. Our staff are trained to spot those signs early and intervene where possible or signpost you to the best place for support – this could be external support such as NHS or the Church, the SENDCO, our pastoral team or another member of staff.

Protective Behaviours – Guides for parents

Part of approach to keeping children safe is teaching them ‘Protective Behaviours’ which is about equipping children with the language and tools to talk to adults when they have worries.

Parent Guides for apps

As a school, we support the Smartphone Free Childhood initiative and believe that no children should have access to their own mobile until they are 14 – or at least in Primary school. However, we know this is not always the case and below you will find some guides to support you with different key apps.

We take the safety and welfare of all our school communities very seriously.

The Fosse Multi Academy Trust and all of its schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
